I Have My Visa!

Okay. I won’t keep you all in suspense any longer. I haven’t posted since my Notice of Appointment was on the way. I am going to Busan! Once I received my NOA, I waited a while before heading to Atlanta to get my visa. The process went smoothly. Except, I do have some advice for people who are getting their visa for Korea in Atlanta. The office closes for lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. So, if you get there at noon or 12:01, you will have to return when they re-open. The offices closes for the day at 5 p.m.
How Long Does it Take to Receive Your Visa?
I called my visa office to find out what I needed to bring and how long it will take to get the visa. I was sent a list of documents and the visa office sent me about three forms to complete. I was told that I would have my visa the next day if I turned everything in in-person before noon. If you do not arrive before noon, it may take two days, as it did in my case. I turned in my paperwork on a Monday afternoon, and was told to pick up my visa after 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Parking at the Atlanta office can range from $6 to $10 (or maybe even more). I paid $6 to park one day and $10 to pick up the visa. I could have found another parking garage, I suppose, but I hate driving around Atlanta looking for the spot. Contact the Consulate for directions, if Atlanta is close to you. I was e-mailed directions and even I didn’t get lost.
What am I Doing Now to Prepare?
I had my 20th high school reunion in Miami, and I had the chance to say goodbye to my high school friends in my hometown. How cool is that? I am also in the process of packing and will soon purchase my ticket. I’m extremely excited about the trip. I’m trying to relax, though. What’s going on with you?

Hi there! I discovered your blog while doing research about teaching EFL in Korea. I’m a second-year M.A. student right now, and I’m hoping to secure a job in Korea and begin teaching next August. I thought I’d say hello as I’m definitely going to become a regular reader of your blog. I also want to go to the Busan area, and if I get accepted, I’ll be going through the process in Atlanta like you
