A Vacation in Thailand

The beach at Koh Lanta

I’m in Koh Lanta or Big Island in Thailand. It’s high season so it’s not as quiet and peaceful as I thought that it would be. The beach is lovely, and the sand is smooth and not at all rocky. There are plenty of shops up and down the beach and tons of places to eat and get Thai massages. I found free Wi Fi for the day with purchase at a restaurant on the beach, so I’m a happy camper. Prices for food is reasonable. I paid about $4 for lunch (chicken sandwich and chips). Dinner at the resort, fish and chips, was $7.59. Oh and I could get a Thai massage in Koh Lanta for about $10.

Getting to Koh Lanta can be a journey if you are like me and you missed the last direct Ferry. I had to hire a driver to take me from Phuket. Krabi Airport is a lot closer. The driver drive me all the way to the resort. We drove onto two car ferries, which was a new experience for me. We set in the car on the ferry as it took us the short distance across.

I'm in my bungalow on the beach in Koh Lanta

It was nightfall by the time that I arrived to the resort. I was tired, and I had a headache. I felt refreshed after I ate and had a good night sleep. There a plenty of bungalows on the beach, and I am lucky enough to be staying in one!
